Dr. Jamal Adam, Interim Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Lake Superior College
Lake Superior College has named Dr. Jamal Adam as its interim dean of liberal arts and sciences, the school announced Wednesday.
Adam will provide direction and leadership for associate degree programs in arts and fine arts as well as transfer and online programs.
“As a member of a campuswide team, Dr. Adam will work to provide an innovative climate for student success, economic development and other educational and training needs of the community,” an LSC news release said.
Adam previously was a faculty member, counselor and coordinator of Counseling Services at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. There, he served as MCTC’s program director for multicultural student support activities. Adam also taught global studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Adam earned an associate of arts degree from MCTC, a bachelor’s degree in social science and psychology from Metropolitan State University, a master’s degree in counseling and psychological services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in educational administration and policy from the University of Minnesota.
