MOGADISHU (HOL) - Police Commissioner General Abdi Hijar has made changes within the police force in Banaadir region.
General Hijar appointed the General Mohamed Abdihakin to head the special police force dubbed Birmad while Yusuf Hundubey will now be in charge of the police unit tasked with security of Warda Nabada district and its environs. The police chief also appointed Abdi Hersi to oversee the police transport department while Yusuf Nur becomes the new police boss in Dharkenley district. Abdullahi Mire Siyad was appointed the police advisor.
The changes which take effect immediately come barely two months after Hajir’s appointment as the new police boss.
It also comes amid increasing IED attacks within and in the outskirts of Mogadishu targeting both civilians and government officials.
