Mogadishu (HOL) - A car fitted with explosives went off on a busy Mogadishu street on Tuesday evening, seriously wounding a CID officer.
The car belonged to a senior CID officer and was parked in front of the government CID office at the KM4 roundabout.
The officer, Dahir Hassan Hussein, survived the attack but did sustain injuries. Dahir was the former district commissioner for Daynile district under Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed's presidency.
There were no casualties in the attack.
Government security forces have arrived on the scene and cordoned off the bomb area to conduct their investigation.
