Mogadishu (HOL) - At least 8 people have been injured after a car bomb exploded near the police academy in the Somali capital Mogadishu, police said.In a statement, Somali police deputy commissioner, Zakiya Hussein Ahmed said the attack caused no fatalities.
“The explosion caused injuries of eight people including four sustaining light injuries, nobody was killed in the blast,” the statement reads in part.
Abdikadir Abdirahman, the director of AAMIN ambulance service said six men and a woman had been injured and ferried to different hospital in the city.
In a statement posted on its affiliate media, Al-Shabaab militant group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
The blast comes at when Somali government deployed hundreds of in different parts of the city.
