Family members maintain that they do not know the wife’s whereabouts after she was arrested alongside her husband on August 30.

Mwai was buried in a ceremony that took less than two hours and attended by not more than 200 people.

He further expressed concern over claims that the wife was also arrested but is still missing.

Mwai’s uncle James Wambugu said that they do not have any information regarding the whereabouts of the wife.

He said that they will allow police to carry out their investigation work but at the same time that it was important for them to inform the family of her location.

Her late husband Mwai was suspected to have been hired to kill Idris Mukhtar and reportedly confessed the same to police.

Mwai, who is little known among residents of Ngamini village where he was buried, died inside a Parklands Police Station cell on August 30.

Police claimed that he hang himself and a post-mortem examination confirmed the reports even as the family allege foul play.
