Mogadishu (HOL) - A delegation led by Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire has travelled to Brussels on Tuesday to take part in a high-level security forum with donors and international partners.
Topping the security agenda was the restructuring of the Somali National Army and the strengthening links between the Somali government and the Federal Member States.
Similar meetings were previously held in other regional states capitals as well as Mogadishu respectively to assess security situation of the country and improve the security cooperation between the government and the federal member states.
Before his departure from Aden Adde International Airport, PM Khaire welcomed Somalia’s U-17 Boys team who arrived from Burundi with their CECAFA silver medals.
Last May, Somalia and international partners have agreed on a security pact that called on the Somali government to take the lead on providing security in Somalia. Some of the benchmarks include recovering territory back from Al-Shabaab, securing supply routes, and paving the path for free elections in 2021
