Mandera County Boss Governor Ali Roba with Mandera East security team hosted delegates from Gedo region Somalia.
The delegates led by Gedo Governor Mr. Mohamud Aden visited the region to discuss security issues between their border.
The meeting took place at the Mandera County’s Headquarters.
The Governor stated it is the first meeting of its kind with Gedo governor.
The meeting was centered on border peace and security issues.
“We discussed among other issues, proper border securitization, trade and integration of border communities in order to foster and enhance a good working relationship, “Stated Roba.
Gedo Governor Mohamud Aden cited that the two communities share many socio-economic ties.
“The two communities share many socio-economic ties and having joint meetings in order to discuss important issues that need to be improved while at the same time highlighting the challenges that need to be addressed is crucial, “He stated.
Governor Roba cited that they are optimistic that the two regions will explore their potential for the benefit of their residents.
