On this 29th December marks the 10th anniversary of the day when Abdullahi Yusuf had decided to resign from the office of Somali presidency following a political dispute with his prime minister and the parliament.
Yussuf who came to the office in 2004 had fired his prime minister, Nur Hassan Hussein on 14th December 2008 after they have dispute over the proposed cabinet and two days later appointed Mohamed Mohamud Guled as his new prime minister.
Mr. Nur turned down dismissal saying the president did not have the power to sack the Prime Minister without the parliamentary approval
The international community pressured on Yussuf to seek solution to save the only existing hope for Somalia at the time.
