He added, “The kingdom welcomes these positive developments in Somalia as well as its seriousness in implementing the roadmap – which resulted in electing Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed as a president.”

Prince Mohammed stressed the kingdom’s support to Somalia.

“Although there are natural resources and factors in Somalia, yet the security, economic and humanitarian challenges hinder making any use of them. These challenges vary from hunger to terrorism and sufferings of Somalian refugees. Other challenges are fighting pirating, completing the infrastructure and restructuring state institutions,” he added.

Prince Mohammed continued that Somalia’s unity and prosperity are the sole guarantors to overcome these obstacles, stressing importance of joining international efforts to accomplish security and stability.
