EU naval force Italian warship its Espero conducts martime trainng with sailors from Djiboutian navy
Tuesday April 4, 2017
During their recent port visit in Djibouti, EU Naval Force warship, ITS Espero, conducted maritime training with a team from the Djiboutian Navy.
The training included briefings on boarding a suspect vessel at sea, specialist diving operations and communications, followed by practical demonstrations and static equipment exhibition. Throughout the day the Djiboutian visitors were very interested and enthusiastic about the training.
Maritime training such as this with a key regional counter-piracy partner such as Djibouti helps to strengthen mutual respect and understanding.
