We must move quickly to avert disaster in Somalia - Jordi Raich

While droughts are cyclical in Somalia, this year's conditions have been exacerbated by failed rains. The effects have been devastating for families dependent on livestock and agriculture.
Humanitarian organizations estimate 6.2 million people, over half the country's population, are facing acute food insecurity across Somalia and more children under five are becoming malnourished. Jordi Raich, head of ICRC in Somalia, warns the trend is worryingly similar to Somalia's 2011 famine crisis and a timely response is needed to avert disaster.
