Mogadishu (HOL) - The Ethiopian President, Mulatu Teshome has appointed Jemaludin Mustafa Omar as the new ambassador to Somalia on February 8, according to state-run Ethiopian News Agency (ENA).
Omar previously worked under outgoing Ambassador Abdiaziz Ahmed Aden as the deputy envoy to Somalia.
Ethiopia maintains an embassy behind the heavily fortified walls of Villa Somalia in Mogadishu as well as a consular office in Garowe.
The new ambassador is expected to present his diplomatic credentials to President Farmajo.
