Beled Weyne (HOL) - The Hirshabelle government is planning to launch various developmental projects through Qatar, complementing projects already planned in other parts of Somalia.

In an interview with Hiraan Online, Hirshabelle president, Mohamed  Abdi Waare expressed hope that the state will benefit from the $200m infrastructure and job creation deal.

Waare said Qatari-funded developmental projects will see the construction of the key road that connects Mogadishu to Jowhar, the regional capital of HirShabelle.

"Mogadishu-Jowhar and the road that links Jowhar and Beledweyne will  be constructed. The projects will soon be implemented,"  Waare told Hiiraan Online.

Building Presidential Houses

President Waare said his administration is also planning to build Presidential houses in Jowhar and Beledweyne.

" We are carrying out plans to extend Hirshabelle administration in Hiraan and Middle Shabelle regions. We are going to construct two state houses in Beledweyne and Jowhar," said the president.

He also noted that his administration aims to improve the agriculture sector since the two regions of Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle are known for their fertile soil and agricultural history.

President Waare was elected as president of Hirshabelle State in September this year after his predecessor was removed from the office through impeachment motion.

Hirshabelle is the youngest regional state to be formed.
