The former Hiiraan region commissioner Abdifatah Hassan Afrah is reportedly dismissed from a polling station in Jowhar where Hirshabelle’s lower house elections were taking place, officials said.
Mr. Abdifatah was removed from the voting site by armed regional soldiers according to witnesses at the election venue.
The ex commissioner told HOL that the order in which his candidacy was discarded was given by the Hirshabelle president, citing significant bribes surrounding on the electoral campaign.
"This can be termed as an election violation and apparently soldiers were practicing a presidential order". Abdifatah has said by phone.
Creditable sources in Jowhar told HOL that Abdifatah initially appeared in the candidates list but abruptly was removed and ousted from the polling station.
