Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari arrives in the country Wednesday to begin a three day state visit which will include attending a memorial for the fallen Kenya Defence Forces soldiers who were killed in Somalia.

The memorial which will be held at Moi Barracks in Eldoret will also be attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and other top government officials and families of the deceased soldiers who were killed in the El Adde camp attack in Somalia on January 15.

State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu said the service will also be attended by Somali President Hassan Mohamoud in whose country the soldiers were killed.

Esipisu said Buhari’s visit is intended to cement bi-lateral ties between the two nations with a number of Memorandums of Understanding having been entered into during his predecessor Jonathan Goodluck’s visit in 2013.

In that effort, Buhari will attend a business forum in Nairobi, on Thursday.
The leaders will then depart for the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Friday.
