Health Officials Still Fight vs Cholera in Somali Refugees Camp

Nairobi, Efforts to eradicate cholera in the refugee camp in Dadaab, the largest worldwide, remain today after being reported a dozens of deaths and a thousand infected with the disease.

In that camp the displaced came from Somalia, from where they flee from war and the hostile weather conditions prevent them from feeding themselves, among other.

Health workers in this refugee complex, located in Kenya, are gaining progress in the struggle against cholera which apperaed last month amidst the rain associated to El Nino, emphasized the allafrica.com site.

An outbreak control team with staff from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and other agencies, are working with the Ministry of Health and the Department of Refugee Affairs of Kenya to address and eradicate the disease in the extensive refugees camp.
