Hirei said the project will contain learning programmes as well as practical sessions to allow participants to gain a basic understanding of volleyball.

The project’s goals include helping the students to discover their volleyball talents. The launch of the project also presents an opportunity for the country’s national volleyball team to scout and recruit talents to participate in future regional and international volleyball events.

Somalia Olympic Committee member Ibrahim Hussen, who was present at the opening event, encouraged students to participate in the course. Somalia Ministry of Sports and Youth Sports Department Director Abdulahi Hussen Abow pledged the support of the Ministry and to help the federation reach its goals.
