A section of the Somali community paid CORD leader, Raila Odinga visit on Tuesday assuring him of their support for 2017 presidency.[Photo/facebook.com]
CORD leader, Raila Odinga on Tuesday hosted several leaders from the Somali community from Kamkunji Constituency, Nairobi.The meeting was for the leaders to consult the leader on various issues affecting them.
The community then pledged to work with Raila in the run up to the 2017 general elections and they will give him support. They raised key concerns including the harassment they face when people claim they are not of Kenyan origin.The CORD leader assured the community of his support and called upon all coalition MPs to ensure they stand to fight for the minority in the society.
“We want all of us to live as one community and embrace the culture to help one another and share national resources equally and that can be made possible if we hold hands to kick off impunity that is on the rise in the country,” said Raila.
The leader also promised them that he would ensure the county government of Nairobi and others deliver their promises they gave during the campaigns.
