City University Awarded Valuable Prices to Winning Secondary Schools of the Academic Competition

Today, a well-organized awards event attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Education,  universities, school administrations, parents, students and other dignitaries was held at the main conference hall of City University. The year-long competition was organized and conducted by Goobjoog FM and Maandeeq FM radio and was sponsored by City University. The program is very popular with students and is designed to raise the knowledge and creativity of students.

Fifty eight (58) high schools and 32,000 students directly participated in the competition program which was also aired by the radio stations reaching many regions of Somalia. The speakers at the event congratulated all participating students and commended the top three schools that received monetary rewards. The hard work and competitive spirits demonstrated by the participating schools was also recognized by the judges.

The winning schools and the awards they received were as follows:

1. First place winner: Mujama Um-Alqura Secondary School received $3,000.

2. Second place winner: Al-Anwaar Secondary School (Former Captain Yasin Artan Secondary School) received $2,000.

3. Third place winner: Dharkaynley Secondary School received $1,000.

City University has prepared quality education for its students including an international standard curriculum, state of the art facilities including libraries, science and computer labs and highly qualified lecturers. English Language certificate programs suited for all members of society are also available at City University on week days, during weekends or on evenings.
