Two men in danger of dying after Gozo stabbing incident

Police said two men were fighting for their lives after a knife fight in Gozo.

The incident took place at around 10:10pm, when Gozo police were informed of the fight between a group of men on Independence Street, Xewkija.

On the crime scene, the police found a man on the floor, a Somali national aged 29, who was reportedly stabbed with a knife by his assailant.

Another Somali national, 24, a resident of Munxar was also attacked by the same person. Both men were taken to the Gozo hospital and were certified to be in a criticial state.

The aggressor was taken under arrest by the police. Duty magistrate Paul Coppini is leading the inquiry.
