Mandera Governor Ali Roba is admitted to the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi after he fell ill while on a tour of the county.
Mr Roba was on a five-day tour of Mandera West constituency with other leaders to get local views on their development priorities when he fell ill.
An official in Mr Roba's office said the governor, who was leading the entourage on the second day of the tour, was rushed to Takaba Hospital before being flown to Nairobi.
“He is currently recovering in Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi,” the official told the Nation.
Among those in Mr Roba’s entourage were Senator Billow Kerrow, Mandera West MP Mohammed Maalim Mohamud and other senior county officials.
The leaders had several barazas in every ward of the larger constituency. The trip started in Takaba and ends in Burdas.
The exercise is usually conducted on a quarterly basis by the county government and forms the basis of service delivery in order of priority.
