ONE security guard was killed and seven Kenyan teachers were seriously wounded yesterday when their bus was hit with a roadside bomb in Galkaayo, Central Somalia.
Local media sources quoted the principal of the Yamays Secondary School in Puntland, where the teachers were working, as saying the bus was extensively damaged.
A senior official from the office of Somalia’s ambassador in Kenya said most teachers in Central Somalia are Kenyans and have been working in Yamays for more than a decade.
Somalia authorities said was not clear if the Kenyan teachers were targeted.
No group has claimed responsibility.
