ST. PAUL, Minn. –  A Minneapolis man has been charged with threatening law enforcement officials and an informant after authorities charged six men earlier this week with trying to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State group.

Muhamed Abukar Said (sy-EED') appeared in court in St. Paul on Friday. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Perel says Said tweeted threats, including one against the U.S. attorney general.

Said's attorney, Shannon Elkins, didn't immediately return a phone message from The Associated Press.

A judge on Thursday had ordered four of the men accused of trying to join the Islamic State group to remain in custody as their case proceeds, provoking an angry reaction from an overflow courtroom that included many members of Minnesota's large Somali community.
