Somali president orders arrest of the killers of Turkish National

President Hassan Sheik Mahmoud of Somalia has ordered security officials to launch a investigation and arrest the murderers of the security chief of Turkish Airlines Somalia Office. The late Saadettin Dogan was shot dead in the centre of Somali capital Mogadishu on Tuesday.

The president termed such killing as a ‘conspiracy’ against the booming development of Somalia as Turkey is now doing dozens of development projects in the country.

“The killers will never win in their attempts to terrorize those who came here to serve for the interest of the people of Somalia.” Somali president said in reaction to Tuesday’s assassination of Turkish airlines security official.

“ We belong to Allah and we will all return to Allah, I am sending my condolence to the family of the slain official, Turkish airlines, government and the entire people of Turkey for the loss of their beloved brother Saadettin Dogan” the president said in his message.

Turkish aid workers arrived in Somalia in 2011 as a quick response to the widespread famine and droughts that affected the lives of more than 3.5 million Somalis, nearly half of the country’s total population.
