Leader of the Interim Jubba Administration (IJA) Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe held a meeting with his top security officials Wednesday (April 30th) after gunmen killed three IJA soldiers in Kismayo, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.
The three soldiers were killed Tuesday evening near Via Afmadow by a group of four unidentified assailants carrying pistols and AK-47s, Somalia's Goobjoog News reported.
IJA security forces soon arrived on the scene and swept it thoroughly, but have not identified any suspects.
Also on Tuesday, women's organisations held a demonstration in Kismayo to protest the increasing assassinations of traditional elders, civilians and soldiers.
In an address to the demonstrators, Kismayo District Commissioner Ibrahim Mohamed Yusuf said the IJA would conduct thorough security operations throughout the city.
