MINNEAPOLIS — Prosecutors say a Tennessee woman who lied to a grand jury in 2009 about knowing men who left Minnesota to join a terrorist group in Somalia had actually warned the men to be careful in case the FBI was listening.

But Saynab Hussein's attorney says her client didn't know what the men were doing in Somalia, and she wasn't promoting terrorism.

Hussein was in court Tuesday to be sentenced on one count of perjury. U.S. District Judge Michael Davis postponed her sentencing to April, and asked attorneys to give him more information about immigration laws.

Hussein is the 21st person charged in the FBI's investigation into the recruitment and financing of fighters for al-Shabab. Since late 2007, at least 22 young men have left Minnesota to join the terrorist group.
