On 16 September 2013, Brussels is hosting the New Deal for Somalia Conference sponsored by the European Union (EU). Somalia will likely be the same on 17 September, the day after the New Deal Compact for Somalia is endorsed.
The success of the New Deal will ultimately depend on the commitment of the Somali government and donors to its principles. Respect for the sovereignty of Somalia, mutual transparency and a common international vision is also vital. .
