Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom arrived
Mogadishu yesterday afternoon (November 5,2013) to attend the
Reconciliation and Peace Building Conference which started on Sunday.
The delegation led by Dr.Tedros Adhanom was received by Fawzia Yusuf
Aden, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and other high level
dignitaries of the Federal Government of Somalia at Aden Abdulle
International Airport.
President Sheikh Mahamod and Dr.Tedros Adhanom exchanged views on a
number of issues revolving the implementation of the Addis Ababa
Agreement signed on the 27th of August between Juba Delegation and the
Federal Government of Somalia. Dr.Tedros lauded the recent visit of the
President as excellent gesture that boosts the confidence of the two
signatories of the Agreement and other stakeholders.
President Mahmuod chimed with Dr.Tedros in his view that his visit to
Kismayo brought a positive spirit which helped the Juba Interim
Administration and the Federal Government to sort out differences
through extended discussions.
Speaking about the progress of the Reconciliation and Peace building
Conference President Sheikh Mahmoud said "everything is going in the
right direction" and added that" the implementation of the Addis Ababa
Agreements has reached to a point of no return". President Mahmoud
hailed the presence of Dr.Tedros Adhanom in the closing day of the
Conference as significant to the ongoing process of implementation given
Ethiopia is the guarantor of the Addis Ababa Agreement by virtue of its
current chairmanship of IGAD.
