Foreign Minister Dr.Tedros also held a brief
discussion with Prime Minister of Somalia, Abdi Farah Shirdon at the
Prime Minister's office in Mogadishu yesterday(November 5, 2013). Prime
Minister Shirdon thanked Ethiopia for its efforts in the negotiation
that led to the August 27, 2013 Addis Ababa Agreement.
Prime Minister Shirdon affirmed that the Reconciliation and Peace
Building Conference is going well in the last two days. He further noted
that the Federal Government is committed t full implementation of the
Addis Ababa Accord.
The Reconciliation and Peace building Conference is being held as a
consultation mechanism to complete the formation of the Juba Interim
Administration. Representatives of different clans, political groups
from Juba are holding discussions in Mogadishu with a view to finalize
the formation of the Executive Council and the Regional Assembly. The
Addis Ababa Agreement was signed on August 27, 2013 in Addis Ababa
between Juba Delegations representative Ahmed Mohammed Islam (Madobe)
and Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir on behalf of the Federal Government of
Somalia.
