A police Inspector was today, grievously injured while he was on patrol at the Malta International Airport.
At about 1.50pm, the police were informed that a person was damaging a
bus in front of the departures hall. The police Inspector together with
another police officer went immediately on site.
From preliminary investigations it resulted that a 31-year-old man of
Somalia was kicking the front sliding door of the bus. When the police
officers tried to speak to him he attacked the Inspector and caused him
grievous injuries. Therefore an ambulance was summoned on site and took
the Inspector to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical treatment.
The 31-year-old man was arrested for further investigations.
