H.M the Sultan Receives Written Message from Somalia's President

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said has received a written message from President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

The message was handed over to Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers when he received here today Mohammed Noor Gaal, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Envoy of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia who conveyed greetings of the Somalia's President along with his best wishes to His Majesty, Monarch of the country.

The Envoy reviewed the efforts being exerted by the Somalia's government to rebuild the destruction caused by the domestic war during the last two decades, conveying thanks of Somalia and its leadership for the Sultanate's support to them in the past and at the present.

Conversation during the meeting touched on the fraternal ties binding the two brotherly countries and means of enhancing them, in addition to a number of developments at the African and international arenas.

Sayyid Fahd asked the guest to convey greetings of His Majesty the Sultan along with his best wishes to the President of Somalia and that stability and development prevail over all parts of Somalia.

The meeting was attended by Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs and Hassan Mohammed Seyad Bari, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Sultanate.

Mohammed Noor Gaal, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Envoy of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia arrived here late last night on a several-day visit to the Sultanate.
