Somali Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon has condemned yesterday’s attacks in Mogadishu against a convoy carrying Qatari humanitarian delegation.

The deadly suicide attack which was claimed by Alshabab militants led to the death of 12 people and injured 25 more.

"These terrorist attacks will not derail the remarkable progress Somalia has made in the past months” said the Somali Prime Minister in a statement.

“My heart goes to the families of the victims, It was a senseless attack which was intended to destroy the lives of innocent Somalis” he added.

Shirdon affirmed his government’s commitment to serve the people of Somalia despite continued terror attacks.

“This makes me so sad, but our dedication is to serve the people of this nation” the Prime minister stated.

Alshabab attacks on Sunday occurred a day after the government re-opened mature streets of Mogadishu following three days of closure when reports of imminent terror attacks were heard.
