Somali Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon has condemned yesterday’s
attacks in Mogadishu against a convoy carrying Qatari humanitarian delegation.
The deadly suicide attack which was claimed by Alshabab
militants led to the death of 12 people and injured 25 more.
"These terrorist attacks will not derail the remarkable
progress Somalia has made in the past months” said the Somali Prime Minister in
a statement.
“My heart goes to the families of the victims, It was a
senseless attack which was intended to destroy the lives of innocent Somalis”
he added.
Shirdon affirmed his government’s commitment to serve the
people of Somalia despite continued terror attacks.
“This makes me so sad, but our dedication is to serve the
people of this nation” the Prime minister stated.
Alshabab attacks on Sunday occurred a day after the
government re-opened mature streets of Mogadishu following three days of
closure when reports of imminent terror attacks were heard.
