Somali soldiers, backed by Ethiopian troops, recaptured Aw Diinle
town from al-Shabaab militants who temporarily took control of the town a
day earlier, Somalia's Warhaye reported Tuesday (March 19th).
The takeover followed a lengthy battle between the militants and allied Somali National Army and Ethiopian forces, said Bardaale district commissioner Mohamed Isaq.
Somalia's Kulmiye Radio reported at least seven casualties, but did not specify on which side.
Aw Diinle, in Bay region, is 30 kilometres west of Baidoa.
