Farah broke the European 1500m record in Monaco last weekend and wants to continue that form in London but not at the risk of putting himself under too much strain ahead of the World Championships in Moscow.

Britain's Mo Farah returns to the scene of his London 2012 Olympic triumphs on Saturday but has insisted he won't let the occasion distract him ahead of next month's World Championships.

The 30-year-old, who completed the long-distance track double in London last year by taking gold in both the 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres, will race Saturday in a 3,000m event.

Farah broke the European 1500m record in Monaco last weekend and wants to continue that form in London but not at the risk of putting himself under too much strain ahead of the World Championships in Moscow.

Asked if he would request organisers to provide a pace-maker for an attempt at the British or European 3,000m record, Farah told reporters: "I'm just going to leave you guys guessing.

"My aim is to win the race but I haven't thought too much about it but I will have a chat with (coach) Alberto (Salazar), tonight.

"The most important thing for me though is not to overcook it. Moscow is what I'm getting ready for and this is just another race to get me tuned in.

"I have got great memories of the stadium. It will be amazing just walking in there and getting the reception, there will be a lot of memories coming back at that point.

"It would be good to win the race, tick that box and then go away to St Moritz for high-altitude training and I will stay there until Moscow."

Somalia-born Farah said his aim now was to build on his record-breaking run in Moscow in just over a fortnight.

"It (the record) shows that I'm in great form, I have just got to hold it together," he explained. "It is great to have that confidence when it comes to Moscow. It is going to be a different race -- it is exciting because they will be testing me out."
