President Mohamed Morsi has invited Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz to participate in the Islamic Summit to be held in Cairo on February 6-7, Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr said in a press conference with his Saudi counterpart Prince Saud Faisal.

Amr stressed deep ties with Saudi Arabia and spoke of the importance of Egyptian-Saudi cooperation in serving Arab causes.

The Saudi foreign minister expressed appreciation of the role of Egyptian labor in development projects in the kingdom.

He said an Arab economic summit scheduled on January 21 in Riyadh has serious obligations to follow up on the execution of resolutions issued by the previous summit.

He asserted that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are exerting utmost efforts to inter-Arab investments and social and economic integration.

Commenting on the case of Egyptians held in the UAE over charges of being members of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Egyptian foreign minister stressed that Egypt does not interfere in the internal affairs of the other countries.

The Saudi top diplomat declined to answer a question on the same issue, calling the matter "purely internal affairs of other countries."

The Islamic summit which will be held under President Mohamed Morsi will address the Palestinian cause, the Syrian crisis, combating poverty, the situation in Afghanistan and Somalia as well as Islam phobia.
