A young girl reportedly suffered serious injuries after fire erupted at the Adrean Terrace apartment complex Friday.

She is believed to have eventually been transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, city officials said following the 5:15 p.m. blaze.

The girl was pulled from the second floor of the complex at 62-64 West Adrean Terrace, Asst. Fire Chief George Clark said.

A family of 10, believed to be from Somalia, was living there. An interpreter was at the scene.

While battling the fire, crews also conducted primary and secondary searches of area apartments in Building 8 in case any other victims may still be inside, but they didn't find anyone.

At 6:14 p.m., officials said they believe everyone was accounted for and placed the fire officially under control.

Red Cross volunteers were called, and the Municipal Housing Authority - which operates the apartment complex - reportedly was providing shelter for those affected by the fire.

The Oneida County air supply van also responded, as well as Kunkel Ambulance and National Grid. Most crews had left the scene by 7 p.m. A fire marshal remained at the scene well into the night. City police provided traffic and crowd control.
