Dialogue Meeting with various stakeholders to address Gender Based Violence,Community Protection, Prevention and Response mechanisms on 8th December 2013, Held at Godir center Mogadishu.

In every country in the world, religious leaders are considered the pillars of the society and their influence is as important as mother and child’s relationship.

IIDA will engage the above mentioned members of the society because their participation in the process is very crucial. And we also believe that because of their position and the role they play in the day-to-day life of the society could be a boost to the implementation of this initiative. The meeting addressed concept of GBV, prevention mechanism; the meeting also explored ways to take the protection to the community level.

IIDA and the taskforce on the ground is determined to set new precedence.

GBV is a subject that touches every ordinary person in most regions of Somalia, not forgetting thousands of IDP settlers who are desperate and vulnerable to countless violations.

The meeting meant to create awareness to youths, religious leaders, elders, policemen and women as part of the 16 days activism on violence against women.

This activity was undertaken by IIDA women’s Development Organization through funding from UNSOM and support from the Ministry of Human Development and Public Service including other taskforce members.
