UN delegation assesses flood damage in Jowhar

A delegation from the United Nations arrived in Jowhar Tuesday (December 3rd) to assess the damage caused by the flooding in the Middle Shabelle region, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.

The delegation, led by UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia Philippe Lazzarini, will visit internally displaced families in the area and evaluate the impact of the flood on agriculture.

Representatives from four other UN humanitarian agencies have accompanied Lazzarini.
