The government has declared Friday a public holiday to mark Idd-Ul-Fitr."It is notified for general information that Friday, 9th August, 2013, will be observed as a public holiday to mark Idd-Ul-Fitr Day, 2013," said Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia in a gazette notice.
Idd is celebrated at the end of 30 days of fasting by Muslims and marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadhan.
