The Somali parliament cancelled its session
for Tuesday (April 23rd) after two committees failed to agree on
scheduled debates about the recent Turkish-hosted talks between Somalia
and the Somaliland region and other topics, Somalia's Shabelle Media
Network reported.
Parliament had planned to review the terms of the communiqué signed
in Ankara, agreeing to continue talks on the status of Somaliland as
part of Somalia.
Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Osman Jawari said there was a
disagreement between the committee that presented the motion to
parliament and the committee that represented parliament at the Ankara
meeting. He said the two have been given extra time to resolve their
differences.
