The festival, which runs until October 28, will be based on the theme of “courage” and is being hosted by Kayd, an organisation that promotes Somali art and culture.

The event will be launched tomorrow by writer and poet Said Saleh and MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, Rushanara Ali, at Oxford House in Derbyshire Street, Bethnal Green, at 6pm.
