Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad on Sunday assured the families of merchant navy ship MV AlBedo’s crew that all efforts would be made to ensure the safe and early release of their loved ones being held hostage by Somali pirates.
Talking to the family members of the crew who called on him at the Governor House, Ebad said the release of the captives would be an arduous and painstaking task.
He issued directives to Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) chief Ahmed Chinoy to step up efforts in this regard.
Women, children and other relatives of the captured MV AlBedo crew were in a state of despair. They appealed to the governor to help them in their hour of need. Ebad assured them that all available resources would be used for the release of the hostages and progress made without wasting time.
