A 48-year-old Briton born in Somalia, ARM, allegedly stole via the internet information of credit cards and used them in buying 6 air-tickets of more than Dh22,000 value, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The accused bought the tickets through the website of the Emirates, printed and used them prior to September 14, 2011.
A Security officer MS, at the Emirates testified that he received an email from City Bank informing that the card that has been used for buying an air ticket was stolen.
The bank asked to stop the transaction of the air ticket.
The emirates identified the name of the buyer and checking his name, it was found out that he has bought other 5 tickets using different card numbers and on different dates between July and September. He used to log into the internet from Britain and used to use his name and address and that card details and names of their holders when buying the tickets.
The Court adjourned the case for verdict until June 26.
