Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Kenyans of all faiths to unite.

In his Ramadhan message to the Muslim community, Mr Musyoka said Kenyans should live and practice cohesive values including religious tolerance.

"I am delighted to send this goodwill message to our Muslim brothers and sisters as you commence the holy month of Ramadhan. This is a special season during which Muslims seek enhancement of their faith through fasting in order to serve humanity better," he said in a statement.

"Our country can only be cohesive enough, strong and united enough and experience peace and stability, if we all focus on the core values that bring us together as a nation."

He said this year's Ramadhan has found Kenya grappling with the fight against terrorism and insecurity and urged tolerance among different faiths.

"We need to live and practice these values irrespective of our diversity in faith," the VP said.

"May your fast and prayers please Allah and be among those who win favour from the Almighty."
