Somali president visits Bal’ad district in middle Shabelle

President of Somali Transitional Federal Government,Sharif Sh. Ahmed accompanied by some of members of the executive council and security officials have today on Saturday reached Bal’ad district in middle Shabelle region observing the situation there since Somali national forces backed by African union peacekeeping forces chased Al-qaeda affiliates from there last week.

President Sharif and his entourage are currently in Bal’ad district of lower Shabelle region he is getting a report on the situation there from military and security officials leading the operation against Al-qaeda linked group of Al-Shabab as journalists travelling with the president confirmed Allvoices.

President Sharif is the second top official that visits Bal’ad district of middle Shabelle since it fell into the Somali government and the African union peacekeeping forces’ control, Somali premier; H.E. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali visited it last week before.

Al-Shabab command seems losing very important and strategic cities in the south and central Somalia and Agoye district in lower Shabelle region and Bal’ad in middle Shabelle shows great victory reached by Somali government backed by the African union peacekeeping forces.
