The exercises at Camp Myriam, 40 kilometres south of the capital, will simulate various military exercises.
Mohamed emphasised the importance of the training for Djibouti's current and future military engagements. Djibouti has troops under the African Union Mission in Somalia, with hundreds stationed in Beledweyne.
"Our engagement in Somalia is one example of your future missions that will require you to plan and prepare for the implementation of force followed by the establishment of a secure base from which to respond to various threats inherent in a sometimes inscrutable environment," Mohamed said to the audience.
