Forum for the democratic change president Dr. Kiiza Besigye has called for an audit into the UPDF peace keeping mission in Somalia.
Besigye is concerned that some UPDF top soldiers are posturing about the successes achieved in the war torn nation yet it might not be the case.
This follows the controversial crash landing of three of the four Uganda army helicopters that had left for Somalia early this week, leaving seven UPDF soldiers dead.
Besigye attributes the crash of three UPDF helicopters to institutional inadequacies’ by senior officials whom he said made strategic errors allowing the choppers to fly over a mountainous area, they could not man over.
The opposition leader says there have been reports of incompetence and inconsistence among some UPDF officers working in Somalia and these have to be investigated.
