Police detains 75 illegal migrants in northwest Turkey

A large number of illegal migrants believed to be intending to cross the border out of Turkey were intercepted in the northwestern province of Edirne on Friday.

According to reports, police detained 75 illegal migrants in large-scale operations in the towns of İpsala and Meriç and the village of Bosnaköy.

The illegal migrants, believed to originally be from Palestine, Myanmar and Somalia, were taken to the Edirne Police Department’s Passport and Foreigners’ Bureau for processing.
