An official from the local enforcement agency refused to make comments about last night’s attack. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
However, there are reports of military movement in and around the checkpoint area, screening all the vehicles passing through the security checkpoint.
The security checkpoint was relocated from the village of Laag nearly two months ago. According to a deputy security official at the checkpoint, the relocation was due to an expansion that gradually pushed out the limits of Bosaaso.
Though the attack caused some minor disruptions, it has not been deemed a major security threat to city of Bosaaso.
