IRCS chairman Abolhassan Faqih said on Tuesday that the humanitarian aid has been collected across the country and sent to the African country.

The drought and the ensuing famine in the Horn of Africa nations have affected more than 11.8 million people across Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Somalia is the hardest-hit by what has been described as the region's worst drought in 60 years.

Tehran has so far dispatched several humanitarian aid convoys to the African country.

Meanwhile, the IRCS chief pointed to plans to send more humanitarian aid to quake-affected people of Turkey.

IRCS says it is prepared to set up its second camp in Turkey to help the people displaced by Turkish 7.2-magnitude earthquake that hit the southeastern part of the country.

Iran also dispatched the second batch of its humanitarian aid to southeastern Turkey from the northwestern Iranian city of Khoy in West Azarbaijan province on Monday.
